NRW InsurLab Germany e.V., with its 87 members, is the largest InsurTech initiative in Germany and makes collaboration the standard! InsurLab Germany builds bridges between start-ups and established insurers. The aim is to jointly transform the German insurance industry through digitalisation and to develop new and further business models. Start-ups and scale-ups receive exclusive access to top decision-makers in the insurance industry. In addition, InsurLab Germany is supported by leading technology and service companies as well as universities in its digitalisation mission.
Journey into the future
How does InsurLab Germany go about it? To achieve its goal, InsurLab Germany has developed the „InsurLab Journey“. On this journey, the initiative provides impetus and achieves results for the path towards digitalisation. It promotes the innovative capacity of its members with needs-oriented products and services. In addition, InsurLab Germany strengthens its network with various match-making formats and offers its start-ups/scale-ups a six-month accelerator programme. In this way, innovative products and services as well as new business models for the insurance industry are developed together, while at the same time enabling the start-ups/scale-ups to enter the market easily and grow quickly.
Match-making with the right formats
At the heart of the „InsurLab Journey“ are the Club Event, the InsurLab University, the M2M Workshop, the Innovation Workshop and the Business Roundtable. In these match-making formats, which build on each other, the players first meet for a topic-related exchange, then enter into the process of knowledge transfer and subsequently develop concrete steps for the digital transformation within the insurance industry. In addition, the members regularly exchange ideas, develop solutions and best practices for current challenges in topic groups and identify future topics. In addition, InsurLab Germany, together with Koelnmesse, is the organiser of insureNXT, a new international congress fair for innovation in the insurance industry. It is the leading platform for traditional insurers, start-ups, universities, service providers and cross-industry partners. Once a year, insureNXT brings together all the key players in InsurTech.
