German Fintech Blogs and Newsletters

May 21 2021

Germany Finance A few days ago, Payment & Banking, a leading medium of the German fintech scene, celebrated its tenth anniversary. A good time for a brief look at some German-language finance blogs and newsletters with a fintech focus.

Payment & Banking
Strictly speaking, Payment & Banking was only launched in 2012, but a link list created by still-active founder André Bajorat in 2011 with an overview of what was happening in fintech in Germany at the time was the starting point. Continuously, the medium, meanwhile extended by a podcast format, has developed into one of the most important contact points for the entire industry in Germany.

Finletter
Every Friday, Finletter is published as a curated, independent journalistic newsletter on fintech-topics. In addition to an editorial, Finletter combines short reports and links to the most important German and international Fintech news. Over 300 editions of Hamburg-based Finletter by Fintech expert Clas Beese and journalist Caro Beese have already been published since 2014.

FinanceFWD
5 times a week FinanceFWD brings exclusive news, analysis and interviews from the financial world with a dedicated fintech focus. Every Wednesday, a podcast of the same name features discussions with various heads of the financial world. The joint venture of the Berlin-based magazine Capital and the Hamburg-based media and event platform OMR has been in existence since 2019.

Finanz-Szene.de
Tuesday to Friday, early in the morning, the duo of financial journalists Heinz-Roger Dohms and Christian Kirchner provide readers with current stories from the German banking and fintech industries. The makers see their own scoops and analyses as the centerpiece of the offering.

Der Bank-Blog
One of the first German financial blogs reports on current and fundamental developments and trends relating to banks and financial service providers. The focus is on topics such as management, strategy, sales and organization of banks and financial service providers. Regular guest articles by well-known authors round off the offering from editor Hansjörg Leichsenring.
