Financing the digital and climate-neutral transformation

The German Economic Institute (IW) , DekaBank and Börsen-Zeitung invite you to the 28th Financial Market Round-Table on Monday, 6 December 2021. Due to the Corona pandemic, the current Financial Market Round-Table will again take place online.

The digital and climate-neutral transformation poses great challenges for companies. Immense investments in buildings, machinery and equipment, but also in public infrastructure are necessary for this. Scenario calculations assume a global investment requirement of 5-6 trillion euros annually.

But how can the financial resources for these investments be mobilised? Which decarbonisation technologies are already available to companies and which still need to be developed? How can these innovations be financed? What contribution can banks make to financing the transformation and to what extent are additional equity investors needed? How can risk sharing in the financial market be improved? What role must the state play in financing the transformation? What framework conditions are necessary for the transformation to succeed?
